When did you arrive at the idea of healthy eating?
Once, together with a friend of mine we decided to try giving up processed, refined and unhealthy foods, and when three months of wholesome eating had passed, I got really into it. Our body weans itself from unhealthy products in the course of time; we just need some time to adjust.
Are you a vegetarian?
No, I am a semi-vegetarian. I eat mostly vegetarian diet, but sometimes eat fish.
What are the benefits of eating a wholesome plant-based diet?
Vegetarians consume less saturated fat and cholesterol and more vitamins, minerals, nutrients, complex carbohydrates, fiber, folic acid, phytochemicals, etc. As a result, they are less likely to have age related diseases, weight problems, depression, fatigue and other conditions associated with meat toxicity. As for me, I mostly enjoy eating plants and whole grains, although I do like all the perks that come with, especially my increased energy levels from eating a lot of complex carbohydrates.
Did all members of your family develop healthy eating habits?
Absolutely! My husband would often have a greasy sandwich or a burger, but in the course of time, unconsciously, he switched to healthier options. Now he is more than happy to enjoy a vegan meal with me. As for my baby, I try to incorporate vegetarian days in his diet on weekly basis.
Can you describe your daily meal plan?
I love starting my day off with a chia seed pudding, a bowl of overnight oats, or a big glass of smoothie. For lunch I would usually get a soup or a salad, and a macro bowl full of whole grains, vegetables and miso paste for dinner.
Do you take supplements?
Yes, I take 2,5 g of Omega-3 fats a day, to maintain health, wellness and prevent inflammation; probiotics, to promote a healthy gut microbiome; and chlorella, to detoxify and cleanse the body of the accumulated toxins.
What are the keys to food blogging success?
Blogger’s creativity, cooking skills, and ability to deliver the recipe home to the reader, and, definitely, photography skills as well.
What are the basic principles of Clean Eating?
Avoid white food such as; sugar, white carbohydrates and refined carbohydrates. Have less meat, milk, artificial junk, processed food, and more low-fat protein, colorful carbohydrates (fruits and veggies), monosaturated fats (olive oil, avocadoes, nuts), water and exercise.
