My favorite dishes are always spontaneous. It was the same today when, just before going to Le Marche Bio, a local bio-market in Paris, I decided to make couple of salads from the ingredients remained in my fridge.
I just love one-bowl meals. I think that bowls are officially happening now.Rice bowl, quinoa bowl, Macro bowl, smoothie bowl, breakfast bowl, you name it. For example, as for Macro Bowl, a macrobiotic bowl, it is usually unrefined rice with fermented foods (vegetables, miso paste), seaweed or tofu. The idea behind this concept is to have a mash-up of healthy foods in one bowl. That’s why they are often called Nourish Bowls, nutritious bowls.
I eat one-bowl meals almost every day, not just because it is healthy and tasty, but also because it saves a lot of time. It’s a perfect option for those who have no time to slave over a hot stove.
Just boil beforehand whole grains, and then add some protein like beans or tofu, and some vegetables. If you don’t have time, just buy a ready to eat salad and mix it with some rice, amaranth, quinoa or anything else that you like. Pour sesame oil and soy sauce on top or add some miso paste and enjoy.
